Aden: Since we've started robotics it has been fun i've learnt how to build my own robot and design a plan and come up with ideas. My group consists of Gus and Joseph T and myself. When we worked with the other group we argued at the start because we disagreed about our design, but now we have worked out how to get along with each other. Our original plan was to have a scorpian that was bowling but that didn't work so now it is just a scorpian. We started building properly when Gus was away which was a shame but actually Joseph T and I ended up finishing building. Our scorpian has four wheels and when Gus came back he added the scorpian tails and to claws. It looks great at the moment and we just need to work out how it's going to work. It is week 9 now and when Gus comes back next week we will work out the programming of the robot and the song as well.
Aden: Today we chose our song and finished the first 20 seconds of our dance we started off with a shimmy and then it does a shimmy in a 360 degrees and then moves forward swerving from right to left. We came up with an idea that we should do most of our dance backwards because it would work better. Can't wait till next week.
8/6/12 I don't think i've done this log in a while. Because it is my turn today, I, Gus, have to do this log. Today, our group didn't get off with a good start. We pulled the robot out of the box, and it had all this costume all over it. There was all this string and stuff on it. I then found out that it was the other class' costume. We have almost finished our dance, and our robot does not go in sharp turns, so that reduces the risk of toppling over. We have done 50 seconds of our 1 minute dance so far, so i think that we are now and truly in the home stretch. Here is a photo of Joe, Aden and I working on our robot:
